Synopsis
Li Yonglan receives a call at the age of 29, from a voice that is both familiar and unfamiliar – it turns out to be her first love, Li Xinyue.
Lan is invited to be Yue's bridesmaid.
Although Lan hesitates, she agrees to Yue's invitation.
On the night before the wedding, Lan watches Yue's silhouette and recalls a seemingly illusory yet real relationship they had in high school.
In 2001, both were top students attending a prestigious all-girls school in Hong Kong.
They wandered under the statue of the Virgin Mary every day, but due to the confusions of adolescence, they developed a relationship that was uncertain whether it was friendship or love.
The first time they felt a spark, the first time they held hands, the first kiss.
Later, the irony of love is that while they managed to cope with external pressures, they could not escape the internal pressures. The divergence between reality and ideals forced them to pursue different futures.
Upon entering university, one chased dreams while the other succumbed to reality due to her father's passing.
The regret of this relationship is that one person summarizes it as love, while the other concludes it as growth.
This cruel wedding brings them closer once again.
Lan drags Yue's hand and enters in front of everyone, handing over her beloved to her current love.
Is this path a confession to youth, or a farewell?
